Re: Daytime Impedance high?

Deep:

Thanks for the update re coil parts from Gates Air.

Good thing I got some spares on hand for those coils, and two spare coils. Now you got me wondering about the motorized contactor parts. Only got a couple fingers left for them. :(

Re: HARRIS COILS

Forgot to mention, I had two of those coils get kinda green and arcy sparky in the phasor and ended up rehabbing them into pretty nice spares. Lots of scrubbing with scotch brite and cleaner worked great. Basically bought one new coil for immediate repair, and grabbed a bunch of parts. Did similar r...

Re: Daytime Impedance high?

I have kinda been following the post and didn't recall reading about the sampling loop---might have missed it. I was thinking about that as I started reading the latest post. Brings back memories of a really unstable 3 twr DA-2, 5kw directional I got involved in. We found that all the three sampling...

Re: Burk ARC-16 ESI Card

Larry: I looked thru the docs. I had, but there wasn't a schematic. Your ESI units might be ok. Read the following: I have 6 ARC-16 units in several of the stations I service. Our land lines on a three of them went away as the phone companies didn't want to replace a major cable in the rural areas t...

RECYCLE OLD SAT DISHES

Just came up with a great use for those old dishes! Take dish to big hill in Northern Wis., or dah U.P. After big snowfall, load dish up with a bunch of party-ing folks and give it a shove down the hill. With a big pond of open water at the bottom, watch the dish water skip to the other side. Adjour...

Re: Contactors! US 2 OUTTA IRONWOOD

One more war story and I'm dun! One dark and moonless night as I am departing Westbound outta Ironwood on US 2, I was crusin' about 60-65 mph in my Buick Electra deuce and a quarter with the 455 cu in V8. I started to lose a station so I glanced over to grab the tuning knob. Got it and started tweak...

Re: Contactors! Clear the driveway before going to bed, wake up to another 12-18"

Chuck-try driving around in the winter "Up Nort" in da UP, dere hey! Houghton-Hancok, Marquette, Ishpeming, Hurley Burly/Ironwood, etc where the big truck snow plows have a second "wing plow" so they can "terrace" the snow. Ain't no way, if you lose control up there, that you would even be able to l...

Been pretty lucky. Contacts on motorized contactors at site I have only went bad in decent weather. I'm overdue!

Re: ADJUSTING CRANK FOR SAT DISH

Well, it looks like I came up with-------at least an idea. Got to thinking about the issue and like being hit by lightning, there was this flash out of the blue! , I remembered the hand crank trailer jack that was on a boat trailer I had a lot of years ago. Got to looking up trailer jacks on the net...

ADJUSTING CRANK FOR SAT DISH

Having a posible senior moment today. Does anyone know the brand name/source for those hand crank sat adjusting thingys? We had one go bad. I don't remember the brand of the dish (abt 3 meter). They look kinda like the boat trailer crank-up/down wheel devices I used to have with the folding handle. ...

Picture would also fit Eau Claire, WI where over 30,000 birdies did the suicide crash into that tall tower. The vultures/turkey buzzards must have arrived too late for dinner. Funny thing about that---------I never saw any pictures in the news media showing all them "dead ducks". Fossil

Re: IC 706 MkII-G problem

Good idea on the pin diode.

I have a 706 too and I seem to remember losing the output device/brick on it. Additionally, I also got an ICOM FM only rig (I think it's an IC1200) that keeps tossing out pa modules every couple years. Symptoms are the same on the 2M only rig.

Re: MW10B-A little help?

I am putting my two cents in here, and probably oing out on a limb at the same time. "Back in the day" I had an MW-5 go down. Don't recall exact symptoms, but might have been similar. It acted like the solid state driver had failed. No stock on the shelf in Quinky at the time. Traced things out and ...
