R10 CONSOLE

Does anyone happen to have a pdf manual for this console. Also, how about a manufacturers name and part number for the channel on/off switch. A friend is in need of some help. Wheatstone doesn't have manual download on site, and they are not supporting replacement switches, but I bet there is a swit...

Re: new Andrew cable - the copper sheath is very thin

Kinda interesting about the "new" Andrew stuff. " Back in the day" when I were a salesman, I stopped at a job site where a tower crew was putting connectors on some 3 1/8" air dielectric Cablewave I sold for the project. I took a look at the open end and saw that the copper outer was noticeably thin...

Re: Arrakis Automation

I must be "the Lone Ranger" here. I installed a 5 studio Digilink back in the early 90's and interfaced it to a business system. Additionally, we had "live assist" panels in three of the (4) 22,000 series consoles. The station was completely rewired for the install, and the addition of the second FM...

Re: Harris FM K5 Freq Change

The metal band connections from the tube anode to the PA tank tubing are aluminum. There may be some dimensional info in the data. Use a very long stainless hose clamp,or two if you can't find real long ones. I think those were 1/2 inch width. I seriously doubt that you will be able to get the PA ef...

So what was the snake-oil that he found?

As I recall the detail, his FM-20G had taken some kind of hit----possibily lightning. It totally messed up the IPA. Story goes that he fiddled around with the coil and possibly moved things around. He put things back together, fired the brute back up and tuned for max smoke. He got his TPO, but it s...

Re: Harris FM G thru K series

Just a bit of history on those boxes. The FM-G, H, H2, H3 and K series all used the same half wave pa cavity design.....just different pipe diams as you got into the higher powers. The big improvement came when a customer suffered severe damage in his FM-20G. He did some "on site mods" to get back o...

Re: Harris FM K5 Freq Change

TVRADIOGUY: I have searched my test data sheets and am sorry to report I don't have factory test data sheets for an FM-5H/K series anywhere close to 106.1. Nearly all are for below 100 mhz. The file I posted hopefully will contain enough info to get you close to where it needs to be for your new fre...

Re: Harris FM K5 Freq Change

There are a couple items in the ipa/pa section that will require change.... 1) coil in ipa section 2) the metal fixtures that connects the anode of the tub to the pa tuning tube. These areas, I believe, are listed in the directions. I don' recall if dimensions are listed as I haven't looked at the i...

Re: Harris FM K5 Freq Change

No current experience with rotary converters so I will leave that to those with recent experience. I will, however, offer that way back when I was selling for Harris, there was a pretty good rotary converter out there and to the best of my memory it was a company in Indiana. Just found it in the arc...

Re: Harris FM K5 Freq Change

Attached is a pdf from the Harris data base that should detail everything you need to do the change. The one major problem you will run into is the availability of some special parts to do the change. FM-5HK FREQ CHANGE.pdf If you have trouble opening the attached, se4nd me a pm with your email addr...
