Re: there was a former Harris sales tech lurking

There is indeed a former Harris Salesman hiding out here. He does prefer to remain lurking/hiding, waiting to pounce at a moment's notice. Regarding your search for an extender card, I am going out on a limb here, but that ain't nuttin new! My thoughts on it are that memory says the MSP-100 used the...

Re: INTERNATIONAL CRYSTAL MFG

Jeff: To the best of my knowledge, Northern Engineering Labs formerly in Burlington, WI is no longer in business having no contact info for a number of years. As for additional information on the crystal front, one of my buddies just ordered several crystals from ICM. He was told that they are worki...

Re: SEARCHING FOR CAPS

Wow! Awesome fast responses....thanks guys. I was looking at those microwave oven caps. They're cheap enough that we could gang up several of them. But I think the tower light beacon flasher source is perfect. I'll call them today to get price and avail. Thanks for all the suggestions----they all ar...

SEARCHING FOR CAPS

Anyone got a company/website, company name, etc that might be able to supply a 0.9ufd 2500vac non-polarizing cap, poly propylene like in a BE FM-10? These are c-2 and c-3. They are oval and look like a motor run/start cap. I feel that a unit price of just under $900 is a slight bit high, and hope to...

Re: Broadcast Technology Company?

Just Googled it and found a post by Silicon Valley listing a B300 amp. Check it out, it might be the same thing.

John:

Thanks for the offer. The guys hooked it up got it working just fine, and the documentation we had was good enough for what we had to do.

Regards,

Re: snow/ice prevention

Glad you asked! Got one dish with no cover. It hasn't failed at all. Got another with the big plastic/rubber cover. Had to go there twice in a week to beat the crap outta the membrane with my crutch. Actually worked pretty good until I discovered my pant leg was snagged on the top of my suede winter...

Re: SEASONS BEST WISHES AND THE SATURDAY MORNING CURSE

As luck would have it, I gets a 1255pm Sat. afternoon call from the Burk person saying no audio. Of course, I always get the same call becuz I don't have access to the audio stuff, only the RF. Sooooo, I call another person who knows where the skeletons are buried, but after long effort, he says he ...

SEASONS BEST WISHES

I know, this is probably politically incorrect, but that's the way I roll.

May all you engineers have a "Silent Night" and "May Your Dreams Be Merry! And your stockings be filled to overflowing with 807's. (If you don't get that one, ask a ham).

Re: How to find out which coax is which to DA?

I used a telephone beeper and audio sniffer to find a problem many years ago, but the difference was the line was physically cut. If you hook the beeper to the outer conductor, and if the splice is readily available, you can touch the sniffer to the connector and possibly "wait for the beep". Fossil

Re: ringing ears from from me tuning those up 15 years ago.

Ok, here's the "rest of the story". The FM-20G and H rigs were reported to be louder that Niagara Falls (later verified). As I recall, the blower change to a "more pleasing sound" began in the H2 series. "Oh what a relief it was"! The BANG usually was the result if a dust explosion, and were truly s...
