Re: Translators

TPT's response now makes me wonder if the translator has to fit in the 2 mV/m in the deepest null. Or does the 25-mile rule ignore the AM DA?

Which I would think is 11010000 (208). However, the monitor may not see it as valid.

Re: Obsolete opamp replacement

Lee & Deep,

Thanks for the help. The consoles are in great shape otherwise, and I'd hate to have to replace them.

Obsolete opamp replacement

My PR&E Airwave 20 analog console took a lightning hit and it looks like either the OP275 driver/buffer amps are bad, or (worse) the OP176s have gone fubar. The OP275s are still available, but the OP176 ones seem to be unobtanium. I haven't been able to find a replacement yet, and am turning to thos...

How about the Broadcast Tools Mixer Buddy? Give you light control, monitor muting and pushbutton mic on/off control.

Re: BE FM25T Tube Change issue

I've had both good and bad luck with Econco. First bad one was in a CCA FM25000G. Replaced it with a warranty one. Sent it back and called and they said is was a leaker. That was in the early '90s. Next was this year. Had the POW! syndrome. Put in the spare, same thing. Got a well used rebuild from ...

Re: Nautel RDS

I meant how many AV units, what version of software, etc. I'm running AVFleX here but would like to have an off-site machine or two for backup.

Re: Audiovault Flex / TRE / Shoutcast Question

I assume the AV is talking to TRE via IP, as am I. I also talk to the Triton streamer via RS-232. Here's the line in the [AVAir] section of audiovau.ini: IDD_CurrentEvent=TCP:+CurrentEvent:;TCP:-n\r;COM1:+CurrentEvent:;COM1:-\n\r; It'll spit out the data on both ports. Here's what formats it: Remote...

Re: usb audio in/out of PC ?

Best as i can tell, the mixer looks like a sound card to the PC. Whatever you mix into the main buss goes to the PC (for recording, etc.) and whatever the PC plays is fed back into the main buss OR the Mix 2 buss. In any event, it doesn't look like the mixer is used to control the level of the playb...

Re: Getting through a PR&E BMX III 26 console

I have a BMX3 manual as PDF. On page 13 there is the connector panel layout. It looks like the monitor outputs are toward the left hand side of the connector panel, along with the HP outputs. Monitor output left is Pin 1/Shield Pin 2/Low Pin 3/High. Right is 4,5 6 same order. Mic module monitor muti...

Re: Gates Executive rebuild

I remember that a couple of decades ago Bill Sacks under his Straightwire brand mad replacement line amps for the Diplomat/Executive "snowplow" consoles. He can be found at http://www.optimod.fm/ . Maybe he still has the boards for these. He also made killer audio distribution amps. A station I took...

Re: Coax switch

The 8100A composite output outer conductor is floating, IIRC. You'll probably need to actually ground it.
