Re: E-skip 7/27

Heard a few signals on the car radio while driving from work to the gym, about a half-hour ride through West Nashville & Bellevue. - 88.5 religious - 91.9 two stations, one rock - 92.3 KQRQ Rapid City, South Dakota (legal ID @ 6pm CT) - 92.7 - 93.1 country, probably KRCS Sturgis - 93.5 - 93.9 "93.9 ...

Re: Mounting stuff to old concrete block wall?

When you're all done, you'll find the dryer's cord is 6 inches to short to reach the new outlet. Or as my wife would say, I tried to add an outlet, ended up replacing the roof. Please don't say that:( KPJL FM wrote: ↑ Thu Jul 20, 2017 8:28 am When you're all done, you'll find the dryer's cord is 6 ...

(It's not really mounted horizontally, the phone decided to rotate the photo & I'm too lazy to reformat it...)

Re: Mounting stuff to old concrete block wall?

I have access to a hammer drill (and safety glasses!) at work. Will give it a shot Wednesday!

Mounting stuff to old concrete block wall?

OK, I'm going to freely admit mechanical work and construction are not my strong suit... I'm trying to install a dryer socket on a concrete block wall. I've got a masonry bit & trying to drill holes for plastic anchors. The problem I'm having.. is that the bit walks. If it hits resistance in the blo...

Re: No sound onair after fading in Outside Broadcast feed

For what it's worth, "OB" is European for "remote".

(I think it stands for "Outside Broadcast")

Re: Static Dissipators?

I've seen lightning strike the little green AT&T pedestal -- completely ignoring the 1,000-foot tower 150 feet away.

Lightning does whatever it darn well feels like doing.

Re: Small diameter balanced mic cable OK? Source?

If these are fixed cables I second TPT's suggestion. Belden 8451 or 9451. (the two cables are essentially identical -- 9451, the foil shield is bonded to the outer jacket & comes off with it. 8451, the foil stays with the wire.) These are single-pair cables.

LMS database & relationship between tables

Has anyone been messing with the new LMS database? I'm having trouble figuring out a relationship path between the facility table and the various application tables. Facility seems to have the same purpose as in CDBS -- non-technical information like call letters & principal community. The technical...

Re: More TV mergers coming soon.

Imho the uhf discount has been obsolete for 35 years.

I'm on both sides of the coin about relaxing the ownership limits, but they should be the same on both bands.

Re: FCC announces incentive auction results (Repack!)

If they're licensed as LPTVs they aren't protected. If they would interfere with any full-power or Class A station, they must move to new channels or go dark. In many markets, new channels may not be available. If they *wouldn't* interfere and they're below channel 37, they can stay put. If they're ...

Re: STL dropouts....back today

Digital television DX is not totally impossible. (it is a lot harder than it was in analog) I have a Silicon Dust HD Homerun network-attached ATSC tuner, and a Perl program which continuously scans all 51 (for the time being) channels. I've captured, on a couple of occasions, the MPB TV station from...
