General Manager: Why do you need this gear for a "mix minus"

GM: "Why are you spending money on gear to create a 'mix minus'? Do you really need this?! Can't the jock's just ignore their own voice coming back like they do in headphones at the studio?!" BE: "..." Had him try speak to me using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icechen1...

Re: Webinar about multiline on-air phone systems

Kirk, Greatly appreciated! Seeing just how configurable (yet simple) these units are makes it a lot easier to confidently purchase these units. Before I can recommend a product I like to be able to "touch and feel" it, and this is just about as good as bench testing something. I noticed there were a...

Re: Webinar about multiline on-air phone systems

For all of these web-based config devices, it would be nice if you guys could put some of these on the Internet so that users can play with it's interface to get an idea of how things work.

Re: Need advice on rack mount CD players...

I just bought a C402 with the remote start option, however I can't find ANY documentation on how to to key it...Do I set tip to ground(sleeve)? do I set it with a voltage bump? 5v? 9v? 12v? 15kV?...

SBE Certifications

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but I am a part-time broadcast engineer and am interested in the SBE certifications. I reside in Canada so I don't even know if I can get membership on this side of the border, nor if there is a chapter near me. If possible I want to look at writing so...

This is one hour before the normal air time of the show, and one hour before the Ham Radio Reception. If you are planning ...

Re: Wa, Local radio station hijacked

Looks like I (and MSNBC) just fell for an April Fools Day joke? This story did remind me of an incident locally where an ISDN STL was "hijacked" and allowed dirty content hit the air. Someone remotely exploited an IP terminal server and logged into an ISDN codec to call a different number on disconn...

I will stand by the Ubiquity products.

As a network geek I take part in a network called BCWARN and almost all of our links are done via Rockets, Bullets, and Nano-Bridges.

Mike Rowe erects towers...

Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs recently did a piece on tower installation crews. They add sections to a new tower, add/calibrate guy-wires, and explain the origin of the gin pole. They then added what appears to be a stack of 8-bay folded dipoles all over the tower...It was a very interesting episode, es...

Radio Mobile is now online

http://www.ve2dbe.com/rmonline.html Surely everyone is familiar with radio mobile. If not, it is a tool used to map coverage, point to point links, fade margins, calculate link budgests, etc. Now, you can go and create most of the same content with this new online version. It is stripped down a litt...

Re: spurious on our fm

Similar lesson to what our LPFM learned when the local cell carrier installed a micorwave system with a 70meg IF... 88.7 + ~70meg IF = unhappy VHF repeater in next room... 88.7 + ~70 = 158.7 which was the input to a commercial install at the site...Did not have a chance to try put a scope in the sys...
