Re: OMNIA.7AM

Why run an omnia or orban processor? Get yourself a used aphex compellor 323a and a Behringer DSP 9024 multiband. The compellor will keep the audio levels constant and the 9024 has 6 bands with adjustable bandwith. One press on the "master me" buttonw and your all done! Each band has its own dsp inc...

Re: Low resource SDR Software

Hi Kevin, I have been playing with SDR radios for over 15 years. I am currently using a RTL SDR that looks like this: http://www.cnx-software.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/RTL-SDR_USB.jpg It tunes 100khz - 1.7ghz and runs fine on an old 2.4 ghz p4 machine with 1gb ddr ram and XP. Re: Aphex Compellor

Any body know of any compellor 320a's sitting around collecting dust? Unfortunately I didn't realize the 323 is a mono unit and I want to run stereo. Another 323 would do just fine and I'm always looking for non working units for spares.

Re: 80's AM loudness War

Take a look at these Gates AGC/Limiters on Ebay this guy has been on here selling broadcast processors for a while. Looking at the condition and price makes me wonder if the seller is on drugs  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gates-994-6543-001-Harris-Solid-Statesman-Limiter-Compressor-Vintage-As-Is...

Re: 80's AM loudness War

Although I have never seen a BL-40 in use at a station I have been watching some videos on youtube showing them in operation. I can honestly say from what I have seen and heard these boxes smash the audio! That's the way I like it dense and loud, There are several after market units based on the BL-...

80's AM loudness War

Anybody remember what audio processing and transmitters the "Big Gun" AM stations used back in the day? How high could they push the positive modulation and clipping?
