I used strips of 12v LEDs for under console furniture lighting for when you need to work inside a lower cabinet. When I pick up some more I plan on retrofitting an knockoff RCA on the air sign to operate on low voltage.
We've had good luck with the ART SLA-1 amps in our remaining analog studios. About $200 from BSW. For all new AOIP studios, we are using powered monitors, KRK or Genelec. In my opinion, powered monitors are they way to go. I concur on the ART SLA-1 amp as I have two for my personal studios. Have ha...

@Dale: Make sure you have an appropriate rule set in the router if NAT is in place. I had to play around with this when setting up a private confidence monitor for a station PD and engineer to share.
Might be better off trying to locate a used LPB TCU-20/ATU-30 or a Radio Systems CP-15 carrier current antenna coupler, which have been used with low power free radiate AM systems for campus-limited broadcasting.

I was buying the SSM2013 VCAs for the 1200-15 console I tended to. Keep in mind that the other channel's VCA would become wonky when the other chip took a dive, so it might prove beneficial to replace both channels if your board is indeed set up with two VCAs per channel.

I was sad to hear of Tom's passing. I had corresponded with him only a week or two ago and while he sounded like he was in good spirits it also sounded like he had come to terms with his own mortality.

Years ago I had an MW-1 at a two-tower direction popping itself off the air intermittently. When I got to the site I noticed an entire row of plastic cable ties failed and a long length of the coax for the STL dish was flapping in the breeze. As the wire went further away from the tower leg the Harr...

I assume your Compellor doesn't have the "A" designation after the model number, right? Also, I have mine feeding a downstream audio processor so suggested settings may be different depending on what the follow processor(s) are set for. I have the process balance at about 11 o'clock with about 8-10 ...

I'm looking for any and all Goldmine Imaging CDs I can get my hands on. I'm using them as templates to teach high school students how to do radio imaging and aren't being used for commercial use. I was lucky enough to have a station donate a few but I missed it when they threw out their entire CD li...
Any body know of any compellor 320a's sitting around collecting dust? Unfortunately I didn't realize the 323 is a mono unit and I want to run stereo. Another 323 would do just fine and I'm always looking for non working units for spares. Just an FYI that you can't gang 323's for stereo as there's n...
Do you have an idea of what's wrong with it? My experience is the damn VCA chips crap out. I'm pretty sure I have one last tube of them in stock it that's the case as I've been billing them out at half of what Arrakis was nailing me for them (until I finally got rid of every last one of their consol...
