Re: BW Broadcast transmitter

We've been running a TX600 v2 continuously for the last 2 years without any issues. We are using a Omnia One and Audemat FMB10, so we're just using the composite input on the transmitter. If the deviation goes too low for more than 30 seconds, it sends the engineering volunteers an email so we can s...

Re: Offical AMC 8 Transition Thread (was Sat. AMC-8)

I had forgotten one detail somebody brought to my attention. It is probably a good idea but I don't know how important to pay attention to the center of box predictions for AMC-18. Will this come back to bite me? If you do the peak alignment at the center of the box you can minimize issues that cou...

Re: Fm translator equipment- Is there a market for it?

I already PM'd you, but I would love to get that BW TX25 (or any BW TX really) to use as a lab transmitter. I've been experimenting quite a bit with Stereo Tool and need to start feeding a TX to see how it really performs!

Re: Emergency communication

The first handheld I got was a Yaesu FT-60R in 2005. It is a workhorse and other than replacing the battery pack when it stops holding a charge, I still recommend it for newcomers as it will last and isn't difficult to program. I also have an Icom IC-91AD for digital (D-STAR) use and just bought a T...

Re: SBE Certification

As someone who is trying to start a career in broadcast engineering, I've been encouraged by engineers already in the field to get SBE certifications as it is very difficult for someone without career experience already to get into the field. I succeeded in getting my CRO in February and I'll be tes...

Re: ASR for towers holding unlicensed WISP equipment

Also, it doesn't matter whether the radio systems on the structure are licensed or Part 15. It is urban legend Part 15 is exempt. It is not. The radio systems are authorized under any Part, and as such compels the ASR registration under Part 17. This is probably why the term "unlicensed" isn't corr...

Tugicom TX180A Exciter Experiences?

I was curious if anyone had any experience with the Tugicom TX180A exciter? I'm wanting to do some "learning-by-experimenting" and I've been having trouble finding a decent FM transmitter for a low price that supports MPX input. I keep thinking though for the price I should probably continue to watc...

Probably the best thing to do would be to dump with dead air, that way you don't have to worry about filling the buffer before the next break or TOH.
