Re: water drain for 3 or 4" coax

One trick our local tower guy uses is to cut an inner-tube and use some epoxy to make a patch. In my mind, what would be even better is after that patch dries to put a "cover" over that of the same size coax's outer sheath (from some scrap), cut and epoxied over the patch. That way the UV couldn't c...

Re: best source for 4-400a tubes

I'd seriously consider a Harris DAX or a used Gates One. Either box is very reliable. I personally am not a big fan of the J1000. They are harder to work on, and have a tendency to get eaten up with poorer installations by lighting. I'd go with a Nautel ND1 before a J1000. RUN like hell from the Arm...

Re: A little transmitter "feature"

"In Nautels' defense, it probably doesn't get this cold in Canda!"

I guess that's the irony of the mistake in their firmware. Of all the manufactures, one would think they'd have that test proceedure. Oh well.... Hopefully they have a fix for the glitch. It's hard to catch all the bugs I guess....

Re: Dream DRM software "receiver"

To bring back a dead thread, i just decided to try this on my FM... as a subcarrier. So far, so good. Using Dream DRM as the encoder (run the app with a -t flag for transmit), set the offset to 67,000hz and voila! I have a DRM-based subcarrier being generated by a PC right into the SCA input on my ...

Elenos ELC20 exciter manual needed

Hi. I'm in search of a manual for our Elenos ELC20 exciter. The factory doesn't have an accurate copy on file. Apparently the older version of Elenos wasn't exactly what is today. There's some disconnect... Thanks in advance if anyone has a copy for this thing... Nothing is broken, just want to have...

Re: Streaming providers

Viastreaming. Good, cheap, reliable and they have enough power to be able to handle your demand. Lots of redundancy too!

Re: FCC NAL for failure to have EAS unit working... for 6 ye

Stuff like this happens more often that we realize. One fatal error this guy made, other than not "taking care of business" in the first place, was to admit he didn't have a working box for six years. I would have told them that "it appears our unit has failed and we have taken steps to become in fu...

Re: energy onix pulsar 1000 help

Check the caps in the CV-type supply. There are two air-conditioner starting cap silver can capacitors in the bottom of that thing. I've had to replace one of them because the thing was going apecrap intermittantly on us and kicking off the air. Wise wasn't so wise when he decided to use a constant-...

8100xt2 stereo pilot issue

I have a friend that has an 8100 with the xt2 chassis. The stereo pilot seems to wander from 3 to 10 percent every minute or so. I have exchanged out the stereo card with another 8100 but it still seems to do it. Would the power supply be the next step to check? Has anyone else experienced this befo...
