Re: Power Rock Parts Needed

I think WVMT Burlington has recently removed a Power Rock and it was sitting by their back door waiting for a taker, it looked to be in pretty nice condition

Re: Car Radio Noise On AM Coming from Engine

Scott, on the Mustang with the engine replacement it sounds like they missed reconnecting some type of grounding from the engine to the body. I am old enough to remember seeing cars of the 40's and 50's that had a strap under the body that dragged along the pavement and they also had special noise r...

Re: Car Radio Noise On AM Coming from Engine

First you need to find out the source , does the noise increase when revving the engine, bursts of static would be spark plug or dirty arcing wire induced or a whine or hash would point to alternator noise. HVAC induced noise can be identified. by turning on in various modes and fan speeds.... same ...

Re: Completely at a loss, inherited a mess

I have a pretty fool proof and easy suggestion, after hours turn the transmitter up to full power and start shutting off equipment starting with the board then shut down every piece of equipment in the air chain including Processors EAS audio DA's and see if and where the problems disappears. If it ...

Re: Strange Problem with Moseley SL9003Q STL TX & RX

Boy do I hate obscure problems like this that seem to make no sense, I once had an ITC Series 99 playback unit with a speed problem that I swear after changing out everything motor, boards and power supply rails were clean including the pinch roller and shaft parts left only the cast aluminum case.....

Re: SX 2.5-loosing valuable hair... help

Excellent point, the reason there are still so many SX and Gates series transmitters still around is that when they work.... they work very well...are energy efficient and the most important reason of all is there have been almost no significant improvements in audio performance in any newer product...

Re: SPX to shut down Dielectric

This is bad news, I sure pity anyone with Dielectric antennas and filters, funny they are still running ads in the latest industry publications...sad they go all the way back to RCA.....wait a minute they too are long gone, I guess nothing is forever Maybe Shively will step up to the plate and absor...

Re: New Console, RFI Concerns

500 Watts AM...You don't know how lucky you are, mere child's play, try studios co-located with 50KW AM along with 100KW FM (500' HAAT'). You should be able to get RF from a 500 watt AM out of any audio console without breaking a sweat. Just follow proper grounding and installation procedures for an...

Re: New Class C4 / Remove underbuilt's PRM

As most of these stations are in the South it should really exacerbate an already bad situation with ducting and other atmospheric problems further degrading the mess already in existance with ever shrinking coverage areas.
It should be referred to as politically correct engineering

Did the same thing with a Harris Z5CD and a Gates 5 both arrived looking like a brand new trannsmitters (The Gates 5 was from a filthy site in Missisippi-red dirt) complete with new serial # and info tag on the back door with stickers and other Harris hangings typically placed on new transmitters fr...

Re: CALM Act

USA Network has been brutal lately, their own promos are by far the worst offenders. If the shows such as Law and Order and House are at one level the commercials are 3-5 db higher and the USA Network promos are at least 7-8 db higher, its a constant grab for the remote control before the glassware ...

Re: Looking for C-QuAM gear

I don't know whats going on at WRKO, I feel a bit stupid because for the past two days their audio has been horrible, distorted bad edgy weird artifacts, may be a real problem or they have installed a new processor and its badly misadjusted, if thats the case sometimes people should leave (an excell...
