Re: You need this

If you've never seen Steve Lampen's demonstration where Belden studied the differences between Monster Oxygen Free 12 GA cable, and "off the shelf" Zip Cord from Home Depot, it's totally worth the time. Is that online somewhere? I'd like to share it with some technically knowledgeable non-broadcast...

If you've never seen Steve Lampen's demonstration where Belden studied the differences between Monster Oxygen Free 12 GA cable, and "off the shelf" Zip Cord from Home Depot, it's totally worth the time. At the very least, for audio applications, there was no technical difference. On frequencies up t...

Re: Mounting stuff to old concrete block wall?

DO NOT mount it directly to the concrete wall. YOU WILL REGRET IT, when the time comes to replace it. (Or the next home owner does. And Yes, it will need to be replaced. Typically those outlets do after 10 years or so.). As suggested above. Mount a piece of wood to the wall, and mount the receptacle...

Re: Hello?

The transfer switch doesn't try to phase match the utility at all and its transfer is lightning fast. The SCRs hate it when they get a sudden phase change. Ours does, but the cooling pumps don't like the fast hit, even in phase, so ours is set to break, wait one second or so, then make. We found th...

Re: FM transmitter causing significant hum in surround components

OK the point's been made, and the question has been answered really.

Just so you know, the folks here are only telling you this, so you don't get yourself in trouble. (Expensive legal trouble at that).

No one wants to see that happen.

So the question was answered and advice was given.

Re: FM transmitter causing significant hum in surround components

Hi, Thanks for the replies. This isn’t for a licensed radio station; I am just experimenting in the house. My previous (much simpler) build has the components inside a metal chassis with the antenna attached to the rear. I used multi core screened cable for the signal and power cables with the scre...

Re: Offical AMC 8 Transition Thread (was Sat. AMC-8)

Hi all, In helping "wtcmeng" we are still looking at a on site solution to his problem. Our latest tests suggest it may be interference from a cell site just across the road from the dish. Should we have to move to a new location, what options would we have for bringing in control as well as audio ...

Re: Browser / Java combination for ARC-16 Web access?

1.6.

You have to now use a free account with Oracle to download old java, or you can find it on filehippo.

We have the Burk Webserver at the transmitter, and that is the Java version I Have to use for it.

Re: FCC ULS issues

I think the commission is using a very ancient version of Java.

I gave up and contacted the FCC for help on this.

Maybe 2017 is the year they upgrade from Java 1.6 to something made in the last five years...

Or a better system...
