Re: New Sound Board

Just remember that any non-broadcast board won't have a studio monitor mute, so you'll be constantly manually killing the studio speakers everytime you talk, versus having them mute when you pot up mic 1. Also the cheaper boards (such as the Behringer products) tend to have cheap power supplies in t...

Re: High Pitched Tone in FM Audio?

I know of a station that had this exact issue. High pitched buzzing tone when the FM was silent. AM/FM pair, FM was a HT20CD, with a co-located AM. The engineer eliminated the noise by removing the exciter from the transmitter and mounting it in a nearby rack. Not sure more on the specifics, honestl...

I added Motorola to your thread title, so it will be searchable.

Re: Ericsson RX8200 BISS 1

Does it say it's not decrypting?

Verify that all the licenses for the proper video formats, services, etc are enabled.

The 8200 is a super license heavy receiver, and if you don't have the proper one for the format being decoded, it will act like it's not decrypting it.

Re: Audio Chain > AES or Analog?

I've heard some excellent analog audio chains.

Personally, if it were me, I'd try not to fix what isn't broken. Save the money for more important future expenditures.
You may need AES down the road, but if it were me, I'd leave it be. Especially if it sounds good and is working fine.

Re: Engineers office computers

Then the PS must be rattling something else, eh? Mine has a white keyboard and a white mouse. And 4GB of RAM. IT just told me it's time for a new one. They updated anti-virus so I guess it now needs a bazillion GB of RAM and a warp speed 2 processor! Definitely the fan. I've pin pointed this stupid...

Re: Engineers office computers

Whats is you're pc like? Slow. Oh, besides that. Has a replacement power supply, because the original fan went noisy on me. The replacement is also noisy. I can stop the noise by banging my fist on my bench. (Same as the old fan). I also have a dual NIC 2nd card in it, so I can do IP program...

I kinda think the bigger news in yesterday's release is that they expect the new channel assignment letters to be in stations' hands by next Monday.
We got ours Tuesday.

The Federal Communications Commission today waived the quiet period that enjoined broadcasters from talking shop during the TV spectrum incentive auction.
