Re: 2200 or 5500I or something else

Ok, I've ruled out the 2200, but what do you guys prefer between an Omnia One and an Optimod 5500I? Thanks! That question may start a processor war. I have not used the 5500i. I have used the 5500 so I am not sure of all the differences. I have also used the Omnia One as well. In this situation the...

Re: Quiet UPS

I was looking at an APC SMT1500 but I had read a few bad reviews about noise. I know the difference between Online and Line Interactive. Online would always be preferred but this is mainly to run smaller items in a studio. All of my computers are housed in a rack room with online UPS units from Cybe...

If you are in that price range look at an Omnia One. $1500 for a 2200 seems high for that vintage of processor. I agree with Deep Thought if you are in a competitive market.

Quiet UPS

I am looking at replacement of UPS units in my on-air studios. I haven't ever found an online UPS that was quiet and all the line interactive units that I have purchased seem to just fail. I have one at the moment that looks fine but whenever the power goes out it doesn't work even with a new batter...

Re: Simian Red Lines 1ea Log Entry When Logging in Via TeamViewer

I am not familiar with Simian and just thinking that it must be an issue with TeamViewer since it happens when that connects. Another Option is to look at VNC Connect. The Enterprise version gives cloud access along with local access. It isn't free but not overly expensive.

Re: Rivendell Radio Automaiton

My experience with Windows 10 has been very good so far. However, I still like Ubuntu a whole lot and Rivendell is a nice system. The one thing I would say with Windows 10 is that I always reinstall the operating system without the Manufacturer add-ons. Dell has been the most kind with their Optiple...

Re: Simian Red Lines 1ea Log Entry When Logging in Via TeamViewer

You could try looking under Extras and Options and under remote control unclick "Play Computer Sounds and Music". This would be on the client side (Admin) that is accessing the host(Playout Computer). I am not sure if this is the case but I encountered the same issue with a client and Nexgen. It wou...

Re: Feeding FXI60 exciter with Optical?

Section 3.18.4 of the Manual explains the setup. I have never used an optical SPIDF cable on an exciter so let us know how it goes.

It appears that you need to select the AES/EBU input and then AES/EBU Calibrate screen. From there you can pick the optical input.

Cheers!
