Re: Reviving a dormant antenna system

FYI...this is a non-comm religious station, and every dime that we have spent has been given as a donation to the project. What I have done so far: I have swept the antenna system with my TG/RLB, and get a return loss of 26 DB at the carrier frequency. Next I fired 200W into the system, and calculat...

Reviving a dormant antenna system

I am in the process of working on a CP for a facility that has been off the air since 2001. The CP is at the same location, class, and ERP as the original, and they would like to make use of the the old antenna and feedline. The system comprises a 4 bay ERI HP rototiller, end fed, and approximately ...

Re: How Old is Old?

I take care of a class B that had a burn out of their HJ8 line about six years ago, before I started taking care of it. They considered a new antenna at the time, but the lead time was an issue. The antenna in an early six bay ERI rototiller, was installed in the early 70's. ERI was able to supply a...

Re: ECO-4 question

Well...that was the part I was missing. Thanks for helping with the connection info to TB10-3 on the PC85 board. It appears that it must still be in the circuit somehow. I'll head back out to the site and look things over and see if I can figure out what error I made. Thanks for looking at the diagr...

Re: ECO-4 question

Well...I guess that is where I am stumped. If I am driving the PA with a direct connection to the N connector on the bottom of the chassis, how does the detector board come into to play? R1 is connected to TB10-3 on the PC-85A board, and that is what I am trying to figure out. The IPA has a refelect...

Re: ECO-4 question

I have used this same transmitter as a driver with this box, and other ECO series transmitters in the past without issue, and have always been able to easily achieve a low VSWR match. I know some transmitters present something other than a 50 ohm impedance to the IPA, but in this case, I believe tha...

ECO-4 question

Need some help with a ECO-4 issue. Last week, I lost the IPA in this transmitter. I returned the next day with a 250W Crown that I have used previously as a sub for the IPA section in this same transmitter. I patched the Crown directly to the input connector on the bottom of the PA cabinet. I turned...

Re: Energy Onix Blower

I don't recall the manufacturer of the blower, but I did contact them about a replacement once. Essentially they don't retail the blowers, but would be willing to sell one to you...if you could wait 3 weeks or so. For a premium, they could provide "expedited delivery" and would be happy to ship your...

Re: Your Biggest On Air Screw up..

When I was brand new in the business, I worked for a TV-FM-AM combo. One day, while working in TV master control, I was building some sort of cable in the rack that housed our master control switcher. Endeavoring to do the best work possible, and impress the folks who had taken a chance on this gree...

Auditronics 2500 manual

Does anyone have a orphan manual for an Auditronics 2500 series console? Or possibly a link to an on-line source? I need to rehab one and get it ready to go back to work. I have looked on the Wheatstone website, and they don't have anything quite that old.

Thanks!
(and Merry Christmas!)

Re: 4CX250B

I could get about 11-12 months out of a set of Eimac 4CX250BC's in the 20K that I looked after several years ago. We switched to the Svetlana brand and the life went to about 15 months. It looks like Svetlana 4CX250B's are no longer imported to the US. In terms of the National brand, I don't have an...

Array Solutions Aim 4300

Sorry if this is off topic for this forum. I was just wondering if there were any users of this antenna analyzer out there. I saw a friend sweep an antenna system with one, and quickly identified a problem with an ancient iso-coupler. At the price point, it looks like good value. The software mentio...

Re: Arrakis Digilink 2 v3 software

Chuck, Thanks for your thoughts. The Digilink was officially put down yesterday. The final "nail in the coffin" was an inoperable 3 1/2" floppy drive. I was unable to do anything to get the drive to work. I had three drives, two controller cards, two cables, and even swapped the mother boards. The m...

Re: Arrakis Digilink 2 v3 software

It looks like management has found the floppy disks I used about 15 years when the original OS drive died. Hopefully they are still usable. Thanks to all who responded. .
