Re: Convert to LEDs, or leave 110v?

Why not just use a commonly available 110v. LED bulb screws right into your existing socket.

Re: Weatherized cable/antenna identification tags

You can get customized dog/cat tags engraved at pet supply stores for less than $10. They are aluminum and will last a long time.
Good idea to tag all that stuff.

Any news release as to what brought it down? Seems a little early for ice.Hard to tell for sure, but in that picture looks like it was well loaded up transmission lines etc.

Re: Chain link fence

We used sizable pre-fab dog pens at the base of our towers. Easy and cost effective. Tied into the ground system at four points. Never had any problems. You can always add extra grounding later as needed.

Re: Burk ARC-16 ESI Card

I had a problem similar to yours on a ESI. I found the low value resistors (10 ohms I think) right at the input to the phone line had gone high in value, probably from a surge. Check those.

Re: Offical AMC 8 Transition Thread (was Sat. AMC-8)

Hi all, In helping "wtcmeng" we are still looking at a on site solution to his problem. Our latest tests suggest it may be interference from a cell site just across the road from the dish. Should we have to move to a new location, what options would we have for bringing in control as well as audio r...

Re: SEARCHING FOR CAPS

The older Flash Technology strobe lights use almost the same value cap. 1.0uf @ 2500 vnp. Here is one source for them, but no price listed. There are other sources for these and I have even seen new ones on Ebay. 1mf 2.5kv Night Capacitor Direct OEM replacement for the following systems: Honeywell /...

Re: Reviving a dormant antenna system

I agree that Mark is giving the best advice engineering wise. But money wise and who isn't these days why not pressure it up, load into it and see what happens. You won't waste that much time testing it, maybe will still work.

There is no clock radio ever built that has those qualities. Get a good radio and connect a radio shack timer to it. :)
