Audio Chain > AES or Analog?

Hello and thanks for reading my post. I own an LPFM which has been on the air now for about a year. I'm driving my audio chain with a play out system. The Server has a M-Audio Delta 192 Professional Sound Card in it. The Delta 192 has TRS balanced outputs (TRS). Everything in the audio chain is XLR ...

Re: Transmitter Site > Backup Audio

Thank you for your suggestions. I seriously considered buying a pair of Barix Codecs for my primary STL. However, I went with the Bric's instead. They were expensive for us $2,600.00 for the pair. However, I do have to say that I'm extremely pleased with their performance. I'm running FLAC between t...

Transmitter Site > Backup Audio

Hello and thanks for reading my post. I'm getting pretty close to getting my LPFM on the air. My primary STL will be using Bric Links over public internet. Currently, I have no backup STL. Needless to say, that worries me. Being on a budget, I've been thinking of an inexpensive way to resolve the pr...

Re: Comrex Bric Link II - STL

I received (1) of my Bric Link II's. I configured it and took it out to the rack for some tests. The "Loopback Feature" is really nice. You can tell what it's going to sound like even if you only have one. It had defaulted to 64K AAC so just for the heck of it I decided to see what it sounded like. ...

Re: Comrex Bric Link II - STL

Hi Doc - Well, I'm looking to use FLAC between the two brics. I don't know what kind of bandwidth that's gonna require. My current speeds are 1.5/12M at the Studio. The STL will be on a seperate connection of course. Could you recommend an inexpensive RDS encoder? I'd like to supply Station ID and A...

Re: Comrex Bric Link II - STL

Thanks for your suggestions Deep. Since I'm not on the air yet, I have the flexability to be able to test everything in my garage before taking it up to the transmitter site. I looked at the Barix codecs. I think they'd be ok to be used as a backup. But I think I'm gonna go the extra expense and get...

Re: Comrex Bric Link II - STL

Thanks for your reply. Looks like I'll have to feed the audio from the Automation Server at the Studio directly into the Bric Link II and feed the audio from the remote Bric Link II directly to the input of the Omnia 3FM. Then I can go Composite to the transmitter. If I run AAC between the Bric Link...

Comrex Bric Link II - STL

Hello and thanks for reading my post. Is it possible to put processed audio through a Bric Link STL? I've been thinking about it and it seems to me that the only way I'm gonna maintain tight control over my audio is to put the processor at the transmitter site (using the Bric Links). After weeks of ...
