Monitor mute switch

Post by HadYourPhil » Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:15 am

What do you use to mute the speakers in the control room when the board is a Mackie? Broadcast Tools used to make a Console Controller as they called it, but no more. Any suggestions? I need one for two mics to control.

Two that come to mind are the DM Engineering Mic Pro 2 - http://www.dmengineering.com/pages/micpro2.htm

and the Mixer Buddy from Broadcast Tools - http://www.broadcasttools.com/view_product.php?pid=201

I have the MixerBuddy and it works great with the Mackie 1202VLZ. Easy to connect, uses the mic channel inserts for conection. Also allows for monitor switching between the Mackie and an external source (we use it for the air monitor.) It's also a LOT less expensive than the old BT box.
