I have to admit - even as a Ham, I have an issue with this bill.

People choose to live in a CCR neighborhood. If you don't like the covenants, you don't need to live there. I have no problem with antenna restrictions based on that - after all, you knew what the deal was when you signed the papers.

PRB-1 is a different story. For example, I live in a village in a non-CCR neighborhood. Seeing as there are no covenants or restrictions on my property, I should be allowed to put up a reasonable antenna if I choose.

I just don't get the issue here - if you want to build a tower, don't buy a house in an area that has CCR's.

I haven't house-shopped in a long time but.. is it *possible* to buy a house without CCRs? I mean, a house someone would actually be willing to live in? (I'm sure most of those places in the red blobs on the crime maps are CCR-free:) )

I live in a very nice, newer neighborhood in a suburb of Milwaukee. No CCR's here.

There are tons of nice houses here in New England not in areas with CCRs. In fact you very rarely hear about them around here.

Same here. The only restrictions in my 'hood is the 35 foot general structure height limit and setback, and you can get that waived if your neighbors agree. There are at least three Hams with crank up towers in the area.
