Much less powerful stations have "skipped out"... I've heard an 80-watt translator from Colorado - twice. Others have logged 10-watt TV translators via skip.

Isn't WSUM's ERP in the direction of Rhode Island quite a bit less than 5kw? Seems to me they protect WSUW (Whitewater, very roughly halfway between Madison and Milwaukee).

Maybe RI isn't in the null, but it isn't in the major lobe either.

Jeff Lehmann got WLTU 92.1 , a 4kW FM, from Manitowoc, WI last night.

The WSUM one shocked me, but the woman speaking gave the station's website, which is how I confirmed it.

It was crazy, people were hearing ES up into the VHF Hi public safety bands last night. Duluth was just like a local.
