Cool site to visit

Post by NECRAT » Sat Apr 28, 2012 3:17 am

A contract engineer in the Northeast, who works for a group maintaining stations from New York City to Canada, has one hell of a online blog. With a ton of pictures, and interesting stories of his work with the group. This is one of those sites, that the pictures alone, will keep you there for two hours.

Paul Thurst's Engineering Blog

Warning, he does get political at times (it is a blog after all), and if you disagree (I don't, he and I see eye to eye on political views), just skip on past those parts. It's still a great site to visit.

Oddly, I can't really quite tell *what* his politics are...

They're roughly progressive, but with distinctly conservative spikes in certain places. I chalk it up to "he actually thinks for himself".

And, in general, they're compatible with mine as well. Site's great, either way.

Yeah, I invested several hours in that site - there is a lot of really cool stuff there, it was definitely bookmark worthy! Then again, I may be biased because he'd included a link to our site preparation document (http://www.nautel.com/resources/white-papers/, the second link from the bottom). :D

There should be a "Don't go here if you don't have a couple of hours to spare!!!" flashing warning for sites like this - then again, would that be a deterrent, or an added lure?

It's like telling someone 'Don't look down' when you're high above the ground on a precarious perch. Most people's first response is 'Why should I not go there? I must find out'
Procrastination I can totally do. I'm good at it, I have a black belt in procrastination, it's an art form for me, I'm the absolute King of, well, I'll finish this thought la

And I see Paul has tagged our own NECRAT back, in a later post.

Isn't this Inter-tubes thing *great*? ;-)
