Anyone going? Anyone need a roommate? I'd gladly split expenses...

I would like to go but Connie and I are leaving for the red neck riviera on the 16th AND I have a class A FM and unrelated translator to get built before then.

Our SBE chapter (111 Huntsville AL) is receiving an award for small chapter membership and am hoping that one of our other members can be there to receive it.

Can you attend even though you are not a "current" member.

I let my membership lapse years ago when they started their socio-political rhetoric.

The SBE Convention is jointly held with the annual Broadcast Clinic which is open to anyone as long as you register and pay the entrance fees. It is a three day shindig of radio and tv technical sessions, along with displays by many broadcasting related manufacturers. This is a great place to meet engineers, techs, company reps and contract engineers. The technical sessions are usually very good. Sometimes the company reps hand out goodies.....I always try to hit the displays early before the SWAG runs out.

I am not aware of any membership requirements for attending the SBE portion of the three day event. Maybe someone who is an SBE member can fill that part in. I am not an SBE member, so I can;t help out on that portion.

This show has been going on for a lot of years. My first one was in October of 1967.

Kind of late, since the radio portion and exhibits are over now, but me too! The Broadcasters Clinic, even when SBE National isn't here, is probably the premier show in the country for technical sessions, with the exception of spring NAB only. Of course, I'm a frequent presenter, so I might be kind of biased! ;)

I got there late on Tuesday and left for home around noon today. First one I've been to and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wish they had podcasts or some recording of the ones I had to miss on Tuesday.

Shoot. Was too busy getting ready to go to reply to the thread:(

Thoroughly enjoyed Jeff's presentation. I arrived Wednesday (actually was in Madison on Tuesday but that was my cycling day) and stayed through the end on Thursday. The talk on drones could have been better:)

Many (most?) of the talks will be posted as podcasts in about two weeks. sbe24.org.
