Contact Closure to control software

Post by BigTower » Tue May 09, 2017 4:17 pm

Greetings all. I am installing an AudioArts R60 console. The console has the tape deck control buttons. I would like to connect it to the computer to control the audio editor (Adobe Audition). I am guessing that MIDI would be the simplest way to achieve this. Is there an off-the-shelf midi controller that will take contact closures and convert them to something the computer understands?

I would also like to do the same thing with the remote start logic on the console for the automation software and other programs. Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way.

Tom

You might look into this:

can be configured to mimic a keypress, mouse click, etc. $35

Thanks guys. Those are good solutions but the application being controlled by those would have to be in focus on the PC... With MIDI, the program could be reduced to the taskbar and the triggers would still work. I may have to buy a MIDI controller and take it apart...
