Source needed for a few misc parts:

Post by ChuckG » Sun Sep 17, 2017 8:57 pm

Looking for the following parts for misc repairs, or a source for any of them. Must be Antique Collins day lol.

Adujstable coil contact fingers. 1950's Collins phasor, not sure who built the coils.

Also need one of these. Common point tank circuit. I know Dan at Commercial Radio used to stock these if nothing else.

Need one of these, only with a 0-800mA scale. Plate current meter in a Collins 20V-2

Chuck, I have a similar meter, but if may be a sacrilege in a Collins rig---it's labelled "RCA" on the bakelite. It's got a shunt on it that makes the meter read 1 amp DC full scale, and the meter scale reads 0 to 1 amp. The meter itself is 2-3/4" in diameter. If you're interested let me know and I'll be happy to send it to a new home for free. Steve Brown Robbinsdale, MN

Steve....I think I found the problem, shorted wiring at the meter but the meter seems OK. I'll let you know when I reassemble it..and thank you very much for the offer.

I also found out that when you order Mica caps from Kintronics they come drop-shipped from Commercial Radio Company. I tried calling Dan over there as my first source but there was no answer and no way to leave a message.

Kintronics stocks the coil parts if anyone needs similar in the future.

They have the side-wiper parts? Cool.

Yeah, if you don't catch Dan when he's in, you won't be ordering. Part of his charm. ;) I've had decent luck faxing a list of what I need and he usually gets back with what he has the same day.
