Telecom - RF Optimization Engineering

Post by zamzam » Sun Sep 24, 2017 4:01 pm

Hi
I've almost 10 years of experience in Telecom RF planning and optimization engineering and have worked on 2G,3G and LTE planning and optimization. I was wondering what is the future of telecom RF engineering. With the introduction of self organising networks, automation and focus towards plug and play devices? Do you think that the opportunities are shrinking?

I've an opportunity right now to move to IT sector but i am confused. Your help is appreciated.

Until towers can erect themselves, networks can plan themselves, antennas can mount themselves and electronics can install themselves, there will always be RF engineers.

The tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to be free----RF broadcast engineers. Been doing it since 1956, and still having lots of fun!. Is there something wrong with my picture???? :D Oooops, I forgot to add hungry.

Deep Thought nailed it. There will always be a need for RF engineering.
