Weird rolls tuner issue

Post by musiconradio.com » Sat Dec 17, 2016 10:41 pm

We have a rolls RS 79 Tuner. Just plugged it in (been in storage). It started shutting off and defaulting to a clock display!! Problem is this model doesn't have a clock (that I know of). When I moved it the radio came back on. Set it back down and clock came back. Tapped the top of the case and radio is back for now.

I have not opened it up yet. Loose cable inside?

It's worth a try - there isn't a heck of a lot inside of them.

I just sent a RS80 back to Rolls that quit putting out audio (the RDS worked fine though) and they fixed and shipped it back for $35.00 which seemed more than fair to me. I have another one that has crappy sensitivity that I am going to ship back next week.

You can put in a RMA request on the website and they will email you back the RMA number and shipping instructions.

Thanks.

Update: a few of the IC's in the sockets were loose, Pressed down on the internal cable connectors. So far, so good.
