Broadcast Technology Company?

I have a Broadcast Technology model B300 300 watt FM amplifier. Google shows a record for them in Garden City, Ks but I cannot find a website (perhaps they were bought or out of business).

Does anyone know where I could obtain a manual?

The amplifier tests OK. I think this would make a good backup amp.

Thanks Ray

Just Googled it and found a post by Silicon Valley listing a B300 amp. Check it out, it might be the same thing.

The guy to talk to at Silicon Valley (SVPA) is Sarkis Kazarian. Somehow they wound up with about every amplifier that was ever made.

I had a couple of amps that Harris sold in an upgrade kit that were made by some British company and tagged with Delta RF stickers and they were able to fix them for me.

Maybe a year and a half ago, I called (620)290-2263 and a guy answered...I asked if it was Broadcast Tech, he paused for a second and said "used to be"...I apologized and said I was looking for a schematic...he asked for what product...I said BT300...he asked for my fax number...a few minutes later, I had the schematic. Sounds like he used to be their tech...don't remember his name, might be worth a call.

Also, they were located at KANZ, so you might call the station and see if they have any documentation left over.

Thanks for the inputs.

Sarkis from SVPA did'nt know about them.

I suppose they were not in business long.

The amplifier works and seems to be well built.

I just like to have documentation for every unit available before a failure occurs .

Is this a Blue/Beige 4 or 5 RU box? I've got a couple in storage. Maybe I have a manual....I'll have a look.

What I know about them, they were made for a few years, had lots of problems and went out of business. Or something like that, it was all before my time as an engineer. I've had comments on them ranging from "Total piece of garbage" to" A good engineer can make them run pretty good", note I've never heard anyone say they were good or great. I'll see If I've got a manual hiding somewhere.

By the way I'm not new here, though I didn't post much over the years. I think I was registered under a no longer active email address and couldn't remember my password. Decided to just make a new account with my real name anyway. HI.

Thanks Nathaniel,

It is a blue unit that is about 4-5 RU high. It looks nice.
I bought it at a hamfest for a good price.
I did a test and it had about 300 watts output with about 4-5 watts input.
It is always nice to have backups

Sounds like the same one. I had a crazy week and didn't have time to look for that manual. I'll try again on Monday.

I found the Manual over at the shop. It's not in great shape but I'll scan it and post it up somewhere for you. Might take a couple days, I don't think it's in good enough shape to put through the autofeeder so I'll have to scan each page manually.

Thanks Nathaniel,

I really appreciate your effort. We plan on using this as a primary backup, so a manual is valuable if we have a problem.

Nathaniel,

That sounds a lot like the BT-500.

Can you send me the scan of that manual too, please?

Thanks!
