Comark (TV Transmission) returns!

Post by NECRAT » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:32 pm

Yes, the Southwick based UHF transmitter company which had undergone names such as Thomcast, Thales, Thomson-Broadcast, has returned to its roots as Comark, under Dick Fiore Jr.

Southwick, MA November 19, 2012. On the 40th anniversary of the foundation of COMARK the company goes back to its roots by returning to its original name. Thomson Broadcast LLC is now called COMARK Communications LLC. The company has been sold by the owner F4 Holdings and is now owned by the management of COMARK.
Having worked exclusively on Comark rigs, and several good friends in the customer service department (the factory is 1/2 mile from my old-old station's tower), I am very happy to see this news.

Raise your hand if the number of names your transmitter manufacturer has had since you bought the rig exceeds your station's frequency :)

That's true, but I will also say this. How many companies out there, can you actually talk to a real person, without all the service tag nonsense, or playing a long game of email tag?
Rodney, Fred, et. al. are the best in the biz, and have been there a long time. You don't find the same customer support at other places like you do with them. While some of their stuff may be quirky at times, it generally works, and the support is top notch.

Really? I mean, yes, we always talk to a human but there were so many variants of each 'model' transmitter that often the voice on the other end of the line has no idea what box we're talking about, even with the model, station name, and serial numbers...
