Worthington, MN broadcast tower collapses in ice storm

Post by rockmanac » Wed Apr 10, 2013 3:26 pm

This is being reported by WCCO-AM. I'm trying to find out the station who lost their tower. Looks like it's an AM tower from the pictures.

Update / Edit:

KSTP-TV is reporting that the tower site belongs to RadioWorks who has KWOA-AM, KITN-FM, KUSQ-FM and KZTP-FM. From the looks of the tower it's KWOA's tower, however, KSTP is also reporting that KWOA is on-the-air right now.

Only AM down there that I know of is KWOA (730), and it also has the FM on it (there are FM bays on the ground).

(oops, edited the wrong post)

There's still enough tower there to stay on if you know what to do. I note that it is shunt fed. Co-located KUSQ (FM), however, looks to be at 0 AGL.

added: Looks like the KWOA tower just has extra guy wires tangled up in it.

Tower locations for the AM and three FMs mentioned in the KSTP blurb:
