That would be interesting! Apparently Harold was/is a HAM, but I doubt that would make any difference in allowing some playtime before they bulldoze the site.

Nice article, except I would make one correction, that we are now allowed to venture down into the tropical bands. I visited the station while they were still in the process of relocating some transmitters from Scituate. One antenna caught both my eyes, a forty-nine meter something-or-other beam with a very high takeoff angle which, as was explained to me, was or maybe still is used for covering northern Mexico in the daytime on that band. I had not thought that that band had any daytime use until many years later when I moved to Washington, DC, and could hear CFRX, Toronto (6070 KHz) fading in and out all day every day. If I controlled a couple of the transmitters, would love to do DRM, even if I were the only listener!
