"Splicing" a nycoil

Post by eng r us » Mon Jul 20, 2015 12:23 pm

I have an ENG truck that has a broken chunk of nycoil about 1/2 way up. Short of replacing the nycoil, does anyone have a suggestion on what would be a good way to splice this break?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. thanks!

Never fixed one for long-term use. We had the nycoil break in the middle on an old truck a few weeks before decommissioning. We splinted it with a split piece of PVC conduit and lots of gaffers tape to get us through those several weeks until retirement. Typically, the only breaks we have are at the top, which is fairly easy to deal with, but that hasn't happened in ages.
