Basic Graphic software for Matrox Digisuite LX

Post by mangurrin » Tue Nov 04, 2014 4:41 am

Hi!

I have two old MATROX digisuite LX without use.
I'm looking for a basic graphic software to use with this Matrox like a CG.

Do you know or have this software?

Thanks,

I'm not aware of software to drive that Matrox card -- it strikes me as something of an orphan nowadays, as hardware goes. You might want to take a look at CasparCG software: it's free, seems to be fairly powerful, and drives fairly inexpensive cards like the Blackmagic Decklink series -- which are also current production and fairly widely used.

Hi,

The drivers of Digisuite LX are only for windows xp, CasparCG will work over XP?

Thanks,

Again, as far as I know, CasparCG doesn't support the Digisuite LX -- you will need a different output card like a Blackmagic Decklink or a Bluefish. Happily, the Decklink cards are quite inexpensive, especially compared to the Matrox.

About the operating system, here's what I find in CasparCG's frequently asked questions:
The CasparCG Server that renders and outputs the video/graphics/audio is developed primarily for 64-bit Windows 7, but it has been successfully been used on Windows XP (32-bit) and Windows Vista (32 & 64-bit) as well as Windows 7 (32-bit.)

Hi Jeff,

I will try to find older playout or similar for work with these cards.

Thanks,

I want to say that I think that the Inscriber machine I had in a community access television studio had digisuite cards in it.

If not, I know somebody who did have some in the machine. Specifically what do you want to use them for?
