Visio Stencils

Post by kc9hta » Mon May 23, 2016 12:16 pm

Does anyone have a good source for Visio Stencils? I'm running an older version of Visio and working on documenting a new project.

I'm working on a baseband video router and patch panel design.

I'm all ears... I've been looking for one myself & haven't had much luck.

I generally make my own stencils; this one contains a number of shapes I use for schematics and system diagrams. It happens to have the symbol we use for patch jacks. The file is "Electronic_Schematics.vss", and it's in a shared Google Drive folder here. Ignore the message saying "No preview available" and click "Download"; save the file to whatever folder is storing your stencils. (If you have Visio 2003, which is what I still use, you can find out the path by going to Tools menu / Options sub-menu / Advanced tab / File Paths... button.

If you're looking for other symbols, let me know -- I might have them elsewhere.
