Uses for a dead Dexstar Exciter

Postby boiseengineer » Sun Jun 27, 2010 12:14 am

Got to wondering if there are any useful parts in that dead exciter sitting at the transmitter.
Having a GPS installed in a computer with a 10 MHz output would be handy.

Any other ideas?

Doorstop? RV Wheelchock? Ebay? Maybe someone needs parts or boards out of it to save another. Just think, you can save the life of an ailing Dexstar somewhere!

If the power supply is still good, I'll take it. I've got a dead one on my bench with a dead PSU, failed CPU fan, and I'd like to replace the HD with a solid state one. Harri$ wants $1700 to do all that.
Procrastination I can totally do. I'm good at it, I have a black belt in procrastination, it's an art form for me, I'm the absolute King of, well, I'll finish this thought la
