Making the move to -14

Post by countrykev » Sat Dec 17, 2011 4:32 pm

Over the last two weeks upgrades were made to a few WPR stations around the state bringing them up to -14db. WPNE Green Bay, WHAD Delafield/Milwaukee, WHRM Wausau, and WERN Madison all made the upgrades around the same time. WERN is now running on a shiny new Nautel NV40 doing low level combine. WHAD and WPNE both had to tweak their Continental rigs to make the upgrade.

We have a lot of interest in our HD-2 Classical format on WHAD and we get a lot of calls with people in Milwaukee proper with reception issues. It will be interesting to see how much this upgrade helps them.

Countrykev, my wife and I are regular listeners to the WHAD HD-2 ever since the loss of WFMR. I'll let you know how the signal comes in around town as I travel about fixing stuff. This is good news and I'll pass it along to Mrs. CFM as she listens to it much more than I do.

Pssssttttt... Kev - check the faceplate. I'm pretty sure that's an NV30 :)

Now, if you NEED it to be an NV40, for a nominal fee, I can make that happen :D

Er, you're right. I only got the tour just before they put it on the air, I wasn't involved in the install. Either way, it does look shiny and nice :D

Yeah, Kev, I've got the NV40 (HOG) (and just put a NV30 at -14 on KLH yesterday).
