Nautel AM IBOC

Post by Deep Thought » Thu Oct 24, 2013 9:55 pm

Try to hold back the laughter for a bit...

I have been tasked with installing a Nautel AM IBOC Exciter on an XR6 along with an Exporter Plus. While it doesn't appear to be terribly daunting I've never done this and would like any advice or cautions those of you who have might be able to pass along.

Specifically, what are the audio input requirements? We'll probably feed this with a Barix to get stereo audio to the site (currently it's served via a Marti STL-10 in mono).

Thanks! You can laugh at me now.

Just use a trick I use....keep thinking to yourself, "billable hours, billable hours, billable hours". 8)

Oh my! You need to enroll in the Fossil Contract engineering class. The procedure is "lunch, lunch, lunch, mileage, mileage, mileage, billable hours, etc....coffee breaks optional.

Not yet. Still making sure everything will be on site when I go up on the 20th, including the IP STL arrangement (crossing a state line via the Interwebs is always fun). Right now Comcast Business is being Comcast Boo hoo hoo with extra packet loss on the side.

We have an Optimod 9400 that allegedly can be reconfigured for this but I need to go RTFM to make sure. Any advice you can spare would be appreciated.
