iMediatouch, Opticodec and metadata

Postby iMediaTouch_Guy » Fri Jul 23, 2010 12:31 pm

Well I have my stream going and I am trying to get the metadata (artist/song) for the song from iMediatouch through Opticodec to the streaming server. I am unsure of the settings in iMediatouch's On air program to pass the data to Opticodec. I have UDP set up now but don't know the correct setting s to put there (IP etc) I know Opticodec can pass pretty much anything so I know it can do it. If anyone can help please let me know and thanks in advance.

My station is the whole Billboard Top 40 charts from 1970-1989 including the Adult Contemporary charts. Copy/paste the link for your media player into where it says play url and listen. The Windows Media Player link will need to have an AAC plug-in for it to work if then.

Well either everyone is listening to my station or have not worked with this kind of combination of software. I'm hoping someone out there has done this before. Thanks!

which version of OMT?
for version 4:

We feed the metadata to Center Stage, which reformats and sends to streaming, web page and RDS. The IP and port in the XML UDP field is the Center Stage server. You need to have a local file for XML to write to, also.
Trim to fit, paint to match, tune for minimum smoke.

Version 3.0.0, I used similar settings as your graphic indicated now teh thing is what settings in Opticodec-PC should I use (port # etc) to be able to read the XML file?

Well shortly after I posted the last post my playout PC decided that its hard drive wanted to fail so it is now being upgraded to a newer much larger drive. Once it is returned I will be back to getting the metadata working. It's strange that no one has worked with this combination of software. I thought iMediatouch and Orban were well entrenched in the radio world I guess not or at least not in this manner. Interesting. I guess a call to Orban and/or OMT tech support is in order.
