DVB Transport Stream Checking using UDP

Post by spellkaw » Tue Jun 06, 2017 3:42 am

Hello,

I have a dektec DTU-245, I was wondering how can i check the DVB TS via IP (or UDP)?
What particular IP address or port number that i need to enter?

Please help.

TIA!

The DTU-245 doesn't handle TS over IP.

If you want to look at TS over IP, you can use VLC to view either the UDP or RTP stream (I'm assuming that's what you want to do, your original post is lacking in detail...)

Hi Davek,

Many thanks for the info. Actually, what I really wanted was to view the actual packets (PIDs, PCR, PSI/SI Tables etc.) carried by the Transport Stream.
My usual setup is to connect the ASI output of our DVB Multiplexer to the Input port of Dektec DTU-245 and launch the StreamXpert application to view the said packets. I noticed in StreamXpert there is an option to view the stream either ASI or IP. I always chose ASI because of my setup, but now I wanted to try the IP option. I want to use the IP output of said Multiplexer connected to a data/mpg switch and then check the TS. I just didn't know what specific command/IP address/Port if there is any that i need to enter. I'm not sure if its udp (I actually have very little knowledge of udp).

Thanks.
