Re: Studio360 Digicarts & Ubuntu NFS server?

Intercept the traffic with Wireshark, maybe that might provide some clues as to what the Digicart is looking for and where the process is failing?

Anyway, the KCRO problem turned out to be one of the push-push switches on the CRL Pre-emphasis unit.
This is quite a common fault with CRL devices. Every one that I've come across has always gotten the solder-link treatment on those rear-panel push button switches.

Re: Routing Internet Traffic

Unfortunately once the packets leave your network (or anything under your direct control), you don't have much control over the path they take (much like how you don't have a say over the path your mail takes when delivered by the postal service).

Re: Cutting Hard Line

I've had excellent results using a drop-saw with a non-ferrous metal cutting blade. Often the cut is so clean the end doesn't even need de-burring. Another advantage is being able to shave small amounts off the end, which you can't do with a pipe-cutting tool. This method was especially useful when ...

What's with all the spam lately?

I've noticed a there is a big increase in spam posts lately. Is it time to tighten the security screws on the forum a little more?

Re: 4K/60Hz HDMI DA that works?

Trying to send two 4K MVP outputs to two different control rooms. (total of four 4K monitors, two in each CR) I've tried three different HDMI splitters that claim to support 4K/60Hz but none work. (all the lights light up to indicate there's a cable there, but there's no video) They do need to driv...

Re: Harris Z FM Diagnostics Failing

Can you check if all of your Z-Plane ISO temperature levels readings are normal? If you see any that are way off, or indicated as ##.# then you've probably got an issue with either the ribbon cables to the ISO board assembly, or the ISO assembly itself is faulty. There are a couple of things that ca...

Re: Tiger Mountain (WA) master antenna catches on fire

No VSWR shutdown? Depends on what type of combining system is in use. In a balanced combiner system the TX won't see any VSWR mismatch coming from the antenna. I've always wondered why it's not common practice to monitor the VSWR of the combined output, where antenna faults can be detected and tran...

Re: RVR PTRL-LCD transmitter PS

Nice find Dave! R4 on the main board is the start up supply resistor, so probably not ideal for measuring residual voltage stored in the main filter caps. In the past when I've worked on power supplies with no bleeder resistor across the main caps, I'll temporarily connect a 100W globe in parallel w...

Re: RVR PTRL-LCD transmitter PS

I've seen photos of this power supply and it doesn't look to be overly complicated. In the absence of a schematic I'd suggest a couple of things to try: 1. Check for any obvious problems on the primary side - open main fuse, shorted/open main rectifier, etc.. Also check the main switching FET, it sh...

Nautel has a document (IS13004A) that details how to prepare a new compact flash card for the NV series. The recommended capacity for the CF card is 4GB.
PM me your email address and I can send you a copy.
