Re: Audio Bandwidth of an AM Broadcast Station

A SDR will open your eyes on how good a well processed AM can sound. I really do wish there was some standards on AM receivers though, in this day and age im not suprised there arent more DSP based receivers that will open or narrow bandwidth depending on noise and or signal strength, my Mazda's car...

Re: Low resource SDR Software

Hi Kevin, I have been playing with SDR radios for over 15 years. I am currently using a RTL SDR that looks like this: http://www.cnx-software.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/RTL-SDR_USB.jpg It tunes 100khz - 1.7ghz and runs fine on an old 2.4 ghz p4 machine with 1gb ddr ram and XP. Re: Antenna Forum

I remember the old calls being etched into the boards and the Gates BC-1 tx in a small room beside the control room for WCLY... The BC-1T is still in that room and it still works. Re: Please fix the HD-1!

I've noticed this happen with a few stations as well, the signal locks in HD mode and will not blend back to analog when the signal drops out it also flashes 'HD LOCK' on the display... you will have to force the radio to lock in analog (I know mine has a setting to do this) the most notable culprit...

Re: am digital question

Maybe this'll answer why you sometimes blend and sometimes you don't. DEXSTAR IBOC Exciter Blend Control These are the different modes of the blending control: Enable Blending - This mode will allow the receiver to automatically blend, analog to digital, and digital to analog depending on the incom...

Re: Tower Lights

I knew of a station owner who had some side markers out..he went down to the local wal-mart and picked up some 60 watt bulbs...hired a guy to climb his tower and change all the bulbs...and a month later every single bulb except the beacon had burned out
