Re: TX + Bad Memory = Off Air

One wonders how accurate the article really is. Anyway, since they’re a non-profit, transmitter downtime often equals increased donations. At least it does here when every time K-Love has to go off the air for some business on the tower, people go, “We’d better send them some money.” Go figure. I th...

Re: Luci Live/QgoLive not behaving with Bric-link

uncheck the "Listen to this device" box That was the first thing I checked. I should note that it’s Luci Live Lite we are using. (Also note that all this works fine when using Skype which has other issues we are trying to circumvent.) So we tried a different setup, using a USB mic and headphones co...

Re: Luci Live/QgoLive not behaving with Bric-link

There should be no sound card involved. The USB mixer shows up as a separate audio device and it is selected for both in and out. The bizarre thing here is that it works perfectly fine with Skype - but not with the other two mentioned.

Luci Live/QgoLive not behaving with Bric-link

Am trying to get Luci Live Lite to connect with a Bric-Link at the studio. Connecting isn't the problem. It's getting the audio to path correctly. Right now, if the studio (Bric-Link) end feeds anything down the line, it comes right back (with about a second delay) such that you can't have that chan...

Re: ASI Card AES cable

Or...as I wrote on another forum...you can take solid wire pairs like that used on punch blocks, strip the ends and poke them into the jack. Works on the analog in/out; don’t know if it would on the digital I/Os. Just a temporary solution, of course, but it’s a perfect fit even though you’re putting...

What vintage is that, seeing it appears to have a non-switching PS?

Re: Singling out 2 stations on same frequency

Posting your location gives us a bit more detail on this situation, primarily the fact that the path between you and Norfolk is almost entirely over or nearly over Chesapeake Bay. This tells us the propagation method is probably what we call enhanced tropo. Over water, (over land, too, but a water p...

Re: WWV WWVH

CHU is on 3330/ 7850 / 14670 kHz. 7850-7335=515 kHz. I reckon that’s more than a “slight” freq shift! Would put it out of the tuning range of some of the older “ham-only” receivers. I had an HQ-110. EVERYthing not ham was out of range for that, even 7335. (Except on 20,15,& 10 meters where there was...

Re: 500w translator

K285ET was listed as K265ET for several years due to a typo/error on an application. The freq was changed to be wrong, too, although consistent with the call sign, which put the xlator on the first adjacent to its parent. Not unheard of at 60 miles away but not terribly practical were it true.

Re: WWV WWVH

We have an old Oregon Scientific WWVB-synced clock that won’t pick up the sync signal unless we put it out on a west-facing window sill and manually force it to sync, adjusting the loaded wire antenna until it registers the signal, then come back about 5 minutes later and it’s ready. Everyone has de...

What is that under the INO? Looks like a McMartin item with the wood grain.

Harking back a post: the former WNAB! Given the English meaning of cumbre, if they had had to, they could have settled for WSUM. But they didn’t have to.
