Browser / Java combination for ARC-16 Web access?

We are still running Burk ARC-16's here, and since recent browser and Java updates, can no longer access the web interfaces. Does anyone know of a browser and Java combination that still works? Burk doesn't support them anymore.

Re: Broadcast Technology Company?

Those were made by Chuck Springer in Lamar, Colorado. When I worked for KANZ in Garden City, KS in the late 90's, Chuck was one of the engineers who was on retainer. Sometime after I left, he became the Chief Engineer.

Re: Nems-Clark WX2/120 field meter B battery upgrade

I bought and built a kit to power one of my antique radios that needed 67.5 volts. It was offered for sale by Tony Maher in Australia. It uses 4 AA batteries to fit the original footprint of the B battery and was very quiet. Details of his circuit are here: http://www.portabletubes.co.uk/sitefiles/a...

LPB S-12 hacked wiring

I'm "restoring" an LPB S-12 console that was pulled from service around 2002. Along the way, the wiring to the monitor volume control wiring was hacked up. I'm not having any luck finding any wiring diagrams or schematics online. Does anyone have one of these with original wiring? I'm just looking t...

Re: SSAC to shut down in September

I was under the impression that the old SSAC factory location was closing down. I assume that production will be consolidated to another location.

I'm trying to wrap my head around what that contactor is there for. It looks like it is shorting the input to ground in one position.

I sent an email to Jim Wood at Inovonics asking for the schematic and he emailed me the PDF with schematics. If you're having trouble getting one from him, PM me your address and I'll email you a copy.

Re: Old Audio Tape

Funny this should come up. I have a whole box full of Soundscriber tapes, as well as a Soundscriber machine sitting under my workbench waiting to be restored. The area around the rectifier tube is burned up pretty good, so it has sat in the box ever since I first looked at it. Now I'm curious about ...

Re: It's the 20s that were bucking broncos...

Yeah, ask RCA about that. I always thought that the BTF-20E was a really good 10 kW transmitter. We were able to make the full 20kw from ours until the day it was retired, earlier this year. It was in backup service, so we had trouble with the tuning adjustments arcing after oxidation set it betwee...

Re: Worst FM Transmitter

I tried for months to find a new home for our beloved RCA BTF20E1, but alas there were no takers. It finally found its way to a local technology museum where it will be a non-functional display piece.

Re: SSAC PCR10/11 Need resistor value

And something that looks like a resistor with a single black stripe is a "zero-ohm" resistor which shouldn't limit current but opens (burns) up like a fuse under fault current. I suppose you can jumper around it for testing (or put a fuse in there). This wasn't a "zero-ohm". It was a multi-stripe 1...

Re: SSAC PCR10/11 Need resistor value

I have two on the bench in the garage that I haven't had time to tinker with. I know the resistor is gone on one of them (and some traces are gone too), but I'll look when I get home tonight. Where did you find the short on yours? The MOV shorted on this one, causing the resistor to act like a fuse.

SSAC PCR10/11 Need resistor value

Does anyone have a PCR10/11 handy? The 2 watt current limiting resistor on the AC input to the board burned up on one here and I'm looking for the value. I found the source of the short, but the color bands are burned right off.
