Re: Another "Fake" EAS

Correct. I was here at the pooter and Kimmel was on the TV. I can't give you details about the segment (I wasn't paying attention until the duck fart went off) but they did do it.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel: Tower Erection

If you have Netflix, they have a show you can stream called World's Toughest Fixes. In one of the episodes, host Sean Riley goes up a tower and helps change out an antenna. Looks like a TV antenna to me and they show how the gin pole goes up and the whole shot. The episode is called 2,000 Foot Tower...

Re: Fun with PPM

Zoinks!! Way too complicated now. I guess I still have miles to go before I sleep, so to speak. I'd like to amend my previous post and just load an iPod with programming and play that at the event. (And drug the PD! )

This PPM thing is really complicated. :?

Re: Fun with PPM

I'm certainly not an expert on this but could you do something similar to what they do for internet streaming where they broadcast the airplay but drop out the commercials? If your station streams you could broadcast the stream at the event and forgo the commercials, and plug in instrumental fillers...

Re: NAL Watch

What I find fascinating is how long some of these stations have operated in an unlicensed state . Some have gone years and years as a pirate simply because the paper pushers fly in and out the door so fast that something this important goes right through the cracks. Then there's the inevitable whini...

Re: NAL Watch

I noticed that the one recurring theme in all of the NALs was late renewals. Is it the station managers job to make sure this gets done or does it fall on the shoulders of the engineering department?

NAL Watch

I've been looking through this stuff at the BDR. It's amazing how folks can bumble things up. I want to add all the NALs up from the whole page to see how much loot Charlie raked in. I was particularly amused by some of the excuses I read. http://www.thebdr.net/articles/fcc/insp/EW.html Guys, make s...

Re: Broadcast Electronics FM3c Power Supply Motherboard

And how would *you* repair it? Firstly, the Dremel with a fine cutting wheel to remove any carbon tracks from the surface of the board. Then, a fine sanding disk to clean up the contacts, two brass screws and nuts, modified to fit. Tighten screws to traces, then (depending on current load) a pair o...

Yeah, us "up north" folks prefer to hold ATU doors in sub-zero temps and wind chills.
