Re: CW Plus Programming with SAP

What about the CW+ any idea if any of their programming have a Spanish audio track? They may not be spanish, but probably would be Descriptive Audio (AD). Contact the CW NOC or affiliate relations to see what shows use it or not. You can also watch the very start of the show, and if you see the "AD...

Hurricane Michael Broadcaster Assistance

Hurricane Michael is absolutely devastating Panama City.

It would be good to get a list going here if we can help our broadcasters down there in any way.

Services, supplies, parts.

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/1710 ... f-the-air/

It's brutal down there.

Re: Genlock

As everyone else has mentioned, you would need a common time code. Where I used to work, we did this all the time: Three or more DSLR cameras all shooting iso, plus separate sound recorder. When you get into the editing process, the time code will make it much simpler to synchronize all your camera...

Re: New UPS suggestion

Also a LOT of UPSes will shut off and stay off if a battery goes bad, especially during the self-test. Things go along fine until that self-test, then the unit shuts off with no apparent reason, and you're dead in the water. Timely battery replacement helps. I've found a 3 year lifetime to be reaso...

Re: RING MY BELL

Here in Verizon Wireless Free Quincy, IL, only about half of us in the training session, who are VZW customers from other states, got the message. Others did not. My phone was sent to silent, and did not make any audible or vibration noise. Just a pop up on the screen that couldn't be cleared withou...

Re: Phone Patch

This is odd! I replied to Dale's question but my post disappeared. If it was removed by a moderator for cause, I'd appreciate a heads-up on exactly why. As near as I can recollect, here is the gist of what I wrote: Hi Jim, 1) I just checked the administrator logs for the last 30 days, and no posts ...

Re: Phone Patch

A couple of years ago my last client still using a Gentner digital had their go Tango Uniform so I have none left in the field. I have two of their older analog hybrids still chugging along at client studios. In recent years I have installed some JK Innkeeper digital hybrids and they seem to be pre...

Re: Synchronizing FM over IP?

In our area, this has just been turned on: https://www.rbr.com/a-bustos-media-fm-boosts-with-maxxcasting-plan/ In practice, I think the network has helped the situation a lot. I haven't listened enough to decide to what extent it's "seamless", or whether (in my opinion) the net result might be wort...

Re: Weird satellite problem

Have you looked at the satellite downlink on a Spectrum analyzer to see what it looks like? It's not unusual for LNBs to start "spiking" across the band, and you could have an issue where one of those spikes are near your desired carrier. Could also be cross-pole. Your cross pole could be a touch of...
