Re: Unit or circuit to properly convert stereo to mono for AM Tx is ?

Another device is the Henry Engineering USDA 2x4 Utility Summing & Distribution Amplifier. Couple on E-Bay for various prices. Stereo in, either two separate stereo outputs or mono outputs. Not impressed by audio fidelity (I have a couple of these--use them to mix the outputs of our STORQ automatio...

I have pills for this.
You have what??

RobbieK56, you need to contact Ericsson for the licenses. They are not free.
No one here should be giving or sending pirated codes.

Make the whole house shake

So we've had a long standing, soon to be replaced issue in our building with something in our primary Synch rack that if bumped, makes the whole house shake. Well in the process of cleanup, Me and our other transmission engineer determine that there is cable wrapped up in this rack that required a s...

Re: Computer-controlled small L-band switches?

We use Compusat software... I'd give Andrew a call and see what he recommends. You have to buy something he can talk to anyway. We've never used a matrix control at my TV day-job, all of the receivers we use have four-port switches built-in, and along with active splitters for each dish, we ...

Re: possible ownership cap rule changes

Disaster for radio...especially small owners. Has the effect of "block busting" markets. With one owner owning most of the stations in the market they can squeeze the remaining stations until they sell out for pennies, or go broke and go dark. Look at Morgantown-Fairmont-Clarksburg WV, where most o...

Re: ERI COG-1084 question

I think that is the same style of antenna that just burned up in a spectacular morning antenna fire here in Seattle. This was a 32 element ERI antenna. You can see some pictures at the local SBE website, sbe16.com. Antenna is a total loss. Stations affected are broadcasting from Aux sites. One of t...

Re: ERI COG-1084 question

There are lots of things that can cause problems like this. Answering your question though, panel antenna systems will have a small frequency dependent variation, but it should not be significant. Unless that is you have an intended null in the pattern to protect another station. Variations in that...

ERI COG-1084 question

So here in Bahstahn (Boston), we have a 3 station master FM antenna around 1140 ft up a tower. The antenna has two "bays" and is an omni ERI Cog-Wheel. (1084CP-2) All three FMs on it are full Bs. All are around 9kW give or take 200 watts. Two of the frequencies, 94.5 and 98.5 both radiate very nice ...

Instead of speculating, we could also just wait for the report to come out as to the cause.

Sounds like audio is out of phase somewhere.
Quick way to tell this. Pull one of the two channels off on the back and see if it sounds normal.

No, however there apparently was a database version upgrade done last night kind of late.

May be related to that.
