Re: Jocks say the darndest things...

At a local college station that turns off the transmitter when no one is on the air "When I check the air monitors I don't hear anything" "Is the transmitter on? What were your readings?" "Close to zero on everything." "Turn on the transmitter" "Oh, wow, yeah I don't know where my head was at" The u...

Re: Google going out of the Radio Automation Business

Is there a company out there with pockets deep enough to buy it? I mean with the credit market the way it is I would think you are talking about a cash sale or a really cheap selling price. With Google putting the development money into Version 6 I cannot see where they would sell it on the cheap. I...

Re: EAS Testing

Just remember, if you are dealing with live operators, it is good to have them still run a RWT. It means they know how the box works and have some idea of what EAS is other than the magic box in the rack. No reason to contribute to the dumbing down of operators.

Congress obviously needs something to do, I mean nothing else is going on in the world.

But at least the coupons will help sell more boxes which will help American Workers that make the boxes... oh wait...

Re: Looking for a relay driven by a LED

Does anyone have a recommendation for a way to activate a simple relay that is closed when a LED is lit and open when the LED is off? I want to use it to pass now playing data to an streaming encoding computer from an ABC XDS receiver running a music format. There is a LED on our audio switcher tha...

Re: Here comes the snow!

Well it IS Snowing, and quite decently too. EVERYTHING is closed.. but alas, being the committed(or is it that I SHOULD be committed) employee I drove in. And I am the only one here. And I have the furthest to drive. Yep, all we have are DJs and production folks, and the engineers of course. 25 min...

Yep, we had it here, was not out long though. Had nothing on the air at the time but got the alarm relay contact which means it was out for atleast 90 seconds.

Re: Remote Start From Console - How Do I Do It?

This is just from briefly looking at the manual. First thing I would do is take a db15 and wire up and label the wires according to the pinout. Use a punchblock or barrier strip. Next test to see if what happens on the pins when you hit the on buttons, if for example you see a short to ground when y...

Re: Remote Start From Console - How Do I Do It?

Thanks everyone. The console has a DB-15 connector pinout. The manual does describe what each pin controls. The part I don't understand is how many wire connections need to be made for each item I want to control. The pinout has one pin for each channel, one pin for +12v, a ground pin, and pins for...

Re: Remote Start From Console - How Do I Do It?

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and am somewhat of a spring chicken when it comes to most advanced engineering skills. We just upgraded our studio broadcast console with a new one, and this new console provides channel logic for remote start/stop of the CD players, DAT, etc. Can anyone give ...

Re: Financial Dispute Disrupts RTN Diginet

I know I saw it Monday morning but it was not the usual infomercial crap that is normally running, it was the tail end of Kate and Ally(Allie?) and then into Bachelor Father, which normally runs later in the day here. No breaks between shows either, with the transition at about 7:45am so I am thinki...

Re: Printing serial data capture?

If you can get it to do what you want with Hyperterm then just set it up using windows scheduler and you should be good to go. I would also think that you could DL the free VBExpress from Microsoft and whip up a custom App in no time. If you can throw real money at it: Serial Printers? Serial to LPT...
