Re: Satellite Metrics

This started happening after a replacement of the coax from the roof junction box to the LNB. As part of the process we also replaced the LNB. Would mounting the LNB slightly off square have anything to do with this?

BE FM 25T Wandering Readings

Gents: I have a BE FM 25T with wandering readings when observing from R/C. I started out with a Broadcast Tools WVRC-8 Plus. The wandering was random and tolerable (slight variance). I recently upgraded to Burk ARC Touch Plus and the readings have gone ballistic! Forward power jumps from 100% to 104...

Satellite Metrics

Gents: We have a pair of satellite receivers that read rock steady at 50% signal level but Eb/No & C/N readings wander around (front panel LCD). Some days the Eb/No wanders up and down by a whole db. I have not observed this behavior before in my experience of working with Wegener/IDC or any satelli...

L-810 LED Side Markers

Anybody out there using these on their towers and have any feedback on longevity?

Translator Receive Signal Booster

We have a translator broadcasting on 96.3 fed off air from our 100k main signal 60 miles away. We are only getting 2 bars of signal on our Dayton 210 which feeds a PTEK 300ES (brand new). Of course we don't sound very good. We've got a radio shack a stones throw from the site so I bought an old scho...

Re: BE FM25T Tube Change issue

JammerDave:

No HD.

Don't have access to a SpecAN. At this point I think I would have to put the "interference complaints" in the not related category. Shes been rock steady and humming right along with the new tube.

STL Overshoot

I have noted high modulation on the modulation meter of my FX50 exciter. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 to 40% over. I am doubtful of the meter as I am not hearing any evidence of this much over modulation on-air. I believe it is a Moseley 505 STL receiver. In the past I was able to power cycle...

Re: FM Stereo Pilot

Seems like it might be easier to take our back up processor, an Orban 8100A, to the translator site. No?

Re: BE FM25T Tube Change issue

The solid state transition can't happen fast enough for me (of course this takes all the fun out of it 'eh?). Give me a Nautel now! ;-) Seriously at $1, 500 to $7,000 a pop for a tube solid state is a no brainer if you are buying a new transmitter. RGORJANCE: I attempted the rebuilt Econco 3 times. ...

Re: BE FM25T Tube Change issue

Thanks NECRAT. I was wondering where my post went. :-)

Kelly:

Big thanks. Exactly the detailed information I was looking for.

From step 11 you stated: "the target AM noise should be >-60dB". Do I interpret that that correctly to mean less than or equal to -60db?
