Re: "WARNING, WILL ROBINSON"!

Holy cow...

Back in November, a friend left a local group to go to a big hiphop station in Detroit. This morning he called me to say that he had turned in his notice this morning and was coming back to the nice warm south... It was +16 here this morning but he said it was about -16 in Detroit.

Re: AMP connector info needed AudioArts console

These are rectangular plugs--the 15 pin about 1" by 1/2" with a 3X5 pin arrangement, 3X4 in the case of the 12 pin connectors used in the R-60 console. The plug is about 3/4" high. The plugs have "wings" on the long sides that lock with the headers on the console motherboard. The headers have pins,...

Re: AMP connector info needed AudioArts console

Does anybody know if this is the same contact and shell used in Arracuss (heavy on the cuss) consoles? Or does anybody know the generic numbers for them.

Thanks,

Re: Timed Capture of Measurement on Anritsu MS2721A/B

Here's a dumb idea: Get yourself a video camera and set it up to photograph the screen. If you just record several hours of video, you should be able to show the screen filling up. Alternatively, you can interface the camera to a computer and have it do video capture at whatever interval you desire...

Re: Unit or circuit to properly convert stereo to mono for AM Tx is ?

I have been using RDL STA1 & 2's to make mono feeds. Connect your stereo audio to the input, tie the outputs together in phase and adjust the levels for a good mix.

The MX2 or MX3 will do the same thing but I seldom have the mixers and almost always have several STA's in the truck...

Re: Warren Shulz has passed away

I never met Warren in person but talked with him numerous times about potential projects over the years. Our conversations always started with the project at hand but devolved into broadcast or ham radio in general. I knew that he had retired from WLS but did not know that he was ill until recently....

Re: Timed Capture of Measurement on Anritsu MS2721A/B

How about a small interval timer and a small doorbell-size solenoid sitting over the button you need to record/save the trace? It seems that all you need is a finger to push a button every so often, so make a finger. Bob M. Now there is an idea... I am waiting to see if the system goes back to fast...

Re: Gates One Blows PA Fuses w/ Modulation

I am currently using the Infineon brand from Mouser, $6.50 each. They are working just fine in my Gates 5's. Are these the TO-220 or TO-3? TO-247 isn't it? . Last order I placed was 2~ years ago, looks like they have the VIshay brand now. $3.02 each. I may have to try a few of those and see...for h...

Re: Gates One Blows PA Fuses w/ Modulation

This conversation reminded me of a Gates1 that I sometimes work on that had a chronic FET appetite. IIRC, the chronic failures were somewhat modulation dependent but just happened at random times without any external provocation. Lowering the mod extended the time between failures. After a long trou...

Re: Timed Capture of Measurement on Anritsu MS2721A/B

No specific answer regarding the Anritsu, but some SAs have an external trigger input that you could attach a timer circuit to. One problem you'll likely have is that the spread-spectrum transmissions are brief and a moving target. Most SAs have a swept frequency for the horizontal axis, and this s...

Timed Capture of Measurement on Anritsu MS2721A/B

Happy New Year's Eve.... I posted this on another reflector but know some of you have MS2721's. I have became involved in an interesting (but unpaid) little project where I need a simple way to save repeated plots from either my A or B version 2721 by time. Once every X seconds or minutes over a per...

Re: Auditronics 200 210 or 212 manual

Hi, I came across your post and were wondering if you were still looking for a manual? I have 2 Auditronics 212 consoles. I have talked with Lightner Electronics and got a manual specific to those consoles. They are almost the same as the 210 series except the output modules are direct and the cont...

Got one of those "Microsoft calls----your computer has a problem with Windows:. I responded that "my computer don't got no windows, it's got a hat" (Fedora). Boy, was he confused. So bad he called his "other poor English speaking supervisor" over to talk to me. Fossil While waiting out a thundersto...

Re: PC Software for Audio Processor for FM translator ?

Thanks. I have a couple of the Behringer USB devices and will give one a try with Stereo Tool I have experimented with various cheap laptops in trying to put together a loaner/rental processor but none of them seemed to have enough horsepower to keep up.

Thanks for the suggestions.
