Re: PL Headset XLR4 to 2.5mm TRS?

Given the cost and application of that headset, It is probably an electret mic, which require a small voltage to function. I bet you figured that out already though. I believe some of my RTS units can supply this, but it appears from the manuals that your CC will work with only dynamic mics (or if t...

Compression Conectors

anybody using these? I use ICM ( http://www.icmcorp.net ) type BNC compression connectors all the time, they seem to be reliable, and are way easier to install than three piece BNC's. Seems most "PRO" video facilities still use the Kings three piece crimp BNC's. Any particular reason? They already h...

Re: PL Headset XLR4 to 2.5mm TRS?

http://www.rtstw.com/binary/Handbook%20of%20Intercom%20Systems%20Engineering.pdf This has been an invaluable source of info on PL systems, covers more than just RTS, though don't expect to find deep info on clearcom, there is some though. IF you have a budget of somesort, jk audio makes some sort o...

Re: If you could create a from scratch video suite.....

Premiere pro CS5 is quite sweet, they now have multicam editing and can use the video cards GPU as hardware acceleration for rendering (certain Nvdia cards only, more if Hacked but still only nvdia). but since the op was made in 08......theyv'e probably already made a decision. I've used Vegas and f...

Re: STL Repeater?

In Boston, a station group is using a Moseley 5.8 GHZ Spread Spectrum STL to link from the studios to their AM tower, as they can't hit the Newton tower directly from the studio and need to from the AM array, which is about 3000 feet away. What about what I said?? That would work, I'll have to look...

Re: STL Repeater?

The other possibility is to try for a "billiard shot" path attempt if you lose the signal. A short story - back in the 50's a new TV station was going on on the air in Tulsa, OK. They built their studios in a solidly built building on the NW side of downtown. As they were getting ready to put in th...

STL Repeater?

HI, I assist an engineer in a small religious station (FM). we are going to be moving our studios to a new location and we are concerned about losing line of sight for the stl. it is 900Mhz I believe or is it 950. anyway, we have considered satellite, but would rather not go that route. What we are ...

Re: FCC NAL for failure to have EAS unit working... for 6 ye

Interesting. I'm pretty new to all this FCC stuff, so I read the whole NAL, and it seems to me (maybe I missed it) that nowhere does it actually say that he is required to correct any of the problems.....I'm sure they would be glad to fine him again, even more since this would then show a greater hi...

JVC KM-2500 manuals needed

Service or users. Unit is working fine but would like to have the users manual in particular. can find the SM for 14.99 downloadable PDF, but I hate paying for PDF's and is that even legal anyway? most of those sites seem to be outside the us and the one I have used succesfully in the past does not ...

Re: cheap alternative to a 360

Wide Orbit automation for radio (formerly google automation) incorporates such a feature, I think they call it hotkeys. We have touchscreen monitors so it's just like a 360 instant replay, except the file name appears on the button, so it's even better. Button size is customizable too. I nstalled th...
