I may also have one (wouldn't surprise me) that I'd be happy to give you. How quickly would you need it? I'm not back in the office until Friday.

Ironically, I've had better luck using a Barix as an STL than a BRIC.

Rich Wood and I finally declared the AEL dead several years ago. I have a Nautel V2.5 in there for now. In the next year the Continental 816 will retire to backup status.

I miss having Pete up there - he was a huge help to us. Unfortunately when we sold the tower site to American Tower, they didn't want anyone in the apartment.ChuckG wrote: A friend of mine, former staff member up here used to rent the apartment on site there some years back.

Re: WBMQ 630 AM Savannah GA
Yes. I was referring to "too tall" in terms of what one could build today. Some of these grandfathered sites amaze me. That site would never happen these days. :D I once "did the math" and figured that a Class B there there on that tower today would have an ERP of about 8kw, vs....

That's not the WOLX tower. It's here: http://www.bing.com/maps/?mapurl=https://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/contourplot.kml?gmap=3%26appid=292870%26call=WOLX-FM%26freq=94.9%26contour=54%26city=BARABOO%26state=WI.kml The original tower fell, and it was replaced with a tower of identical height just a f...

He probably had that crane hoist up a cooler so he could finish off a six pack while doing the work!

Re: Wheatstone VP-8ip Processor
If you recreated it with two different processors, it may well be an issue with the Wheatstone. The Digit issue occurred in models manufactured before 2003. If yours is older, you should check to see of the mod was done to the Digit. Open the cover and look at the upconverter (A4). You should see fo...

Re: HD Blending
I believe that the mode that they're running in would dictate that. If the exporter is set to a non-hybrid mode, the HD radio would lock into a "digital-only" mode that would not roll back to analog. You should be able to look at the HD manuals at the Nautel site. There very well may be a ...

Just a random thought...
Have you tried switching the unit to mono to see if it goes away? I wonder if you're hearing the stereo pilot.

I'll second DT's suggestion. I use quite a few of those Barix boxes and they're pretty bulletproof. The wall warts are a different story though.

Re: Xmtr output bouncing
Not for nothin', but that sure does look like WLKN! At any rate (for what it's worth) the Energy Onyx transmitters do the same thing - when the raise and lower lights are lit the power is at the preset level, if the output moves out of that window the raise or lower light will go out (depending on w...
