Re: SBE CertPreview Downloads

I had purchased CertPreview as a study aid for my CEA and CEV exams. I was able to download it without any problem and was able to add the purchased exams.

Re: Audio Processing?

Back when I was streaming I had started with a pair of dbx Quantum 4 banders, then I moved to an Aphex 2020 and ended up with an Optimod 6200 DAB that originally came from a DTV headend. The Orban was the best of them all, especially since you're able to dial back the bandwidth and prevent the encod...

Re: Sparta and LPB mixers

From my experience the LPB modules plug into a backplane on the bottom pan of the mixer. All the Sparta mixers I've ever serviced had modules and are wired to terminal posts and have no edge connectors. I'm unaware if newer vintage Sparta consoles have plug-in modules.

Re: coffee and control boards

You and the owner should have thanked her as I think it was an omen. After blowing through several 1200 series Arrakis consoles and having a rather sour experience with an ARC-10 board I finally wised up and learned to never look back. The clue of discontinued VCA chips should have been yet another ...

Re: SS32 Radio Spider ?

Did you expect any less from Jim Barcus? I had lots of fun with him back when he was selling Auto Jock music scheduler software. The promises were wonderful...the software not so much. I had been one of the many who were unhappy with various aspects of Barcus's software. In my case I had ...

Re: Lubricant Recommendation

Thanks for the replies and the reminders. I had some LPS-1 but it walked away from the bench and who knows which one of the guys borrowed it. I've heard of Molykote but never used it and, for that matter, wasn't aware of it being available in different viscosities. I'll have to pick up some to have ...

Lubricant Recommendation

I'm working on a couple of Tascam CD-01U Pro slot loading CD players where the mech was having problems loading and ejecting discs. Resurfacing the rubber rollers with Rawn Regrip solved the problem with the ejecting but the units still have a common problem. The mechanics jam up when inserting a di...

True, but it seems there are times I'm so far underwater the only time I have free is when I spend it trying to swim to the top :D

Re: HARRIS MSP-90/95 MANUALS NEEDED

The gent who donated the tri-band unit to the school found a brand new manual for it. If I get some free time I'll have it scanned in case somebody can use it.

I usually do but wasn't sure on how wide an interest this would have been in this. Thanks for the reminder. :D

I had sent it to the original poster and never got any response. In case you need them I collected all the documents that LPB had on their site before it went t.u.

I re-lapped a bunch of IT 850 decks back in the 80's and I still have the kit to use for the Otari I use for archiving.

Re: AM Mod Monitor Antenna

I was curious since, being a ferrite antenna, there was no provision for tuning across the band. I would guess the physical size would have to be fairly large to allow for good performance across the band which is why I thought I'd pose the question prior to attempting my build.

AM Mod Monitor Antenna

I was intrigued by the long discontinued Inovonics AM active antenna. I wanted to attempt to build something like this as I often use a 520 modulation monitor for field testing and it would be nice to have a broadband AM antenna that doesn't require peaking. I have an old loop but I haven't rewound ...

Re: Affordable studio furniture.

I have a couple of older studio furniture racks from RusLang as they were local to me. I don't know if they just went out of business or they sold off their assets. Frank Ruskay passed away back in 2010.
